Travis County reports 4 more coronavirus deaths, 296 new cases


On Tuesday, the health officials of Travis County informed 4 more individuals in the region have died due to COVID-19 related cases.

The health officials said that 307 individuals in the county have died due to COVID-19 now, since the time the pandemic began.

The health officials further informed about 296 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, which brings the overall lab-confirmed positive cases in Travis County to 23,249.

On the other hand, the overall estimated recoveries in Travis County now stand at 21,871.

On Monday, the local health officials reported 284 individuals in the hospitals of Austin area with coronavirus. Of these, 102 patients are in the ICU while 74 are on ventilators.

The hospitals in Austin region witnessed a major day-to-day rise in COVID-19 related admissions, with 46 new cases on Tuesday. On Monday, the officials informed about 19 new admissions.

The seven-day average rate of new admissions in hospitals is 33.6, a minor rise from the average 32.9 on Monday.

This average, which the officials monitor very closely at the time of considering the precautionary measures, now is below the threshold of the city for Stage four restrictions to lower further spread of coronavirus. However, the health officials of the county and the city said that they’ll not lower restrictions on the virus to Stage three just yet.
