It would not be a significant Bayern Munich win with one injury at least, would it? The team is followed persistently and blessed by injury gods probably, and 4-1 victory against Chelsea in the 16 second leg round of the Champions League wasn’t different.
Though the extent of injuries is not completely clear till now, both Alphonso Davies and Jerome Boateng sustained minor knocks during the game that resulted in them coming off. Davies sustained the injury in the stoppage time while Boateng had been subbed off post Hansi Flick made all the available 5 substitutions already.
Boateng sustained a knee issue post he landed weirdly from one diving header to Manuel Neuer. He received instant treatment for some minutes before he moved to the sidelines for further being assessed by the physios of Bayern. He returned on pitch for sometime but Niklas Sule replaced him eventually in 63rd minute.
Post the match, Flick said that Boateng’s knock was not that serious, as per the details he received from the medical staff of Bayern.
Meanwhile, Davies seemed to have a cramp after he made a run on left flank. Though he received treatment on sidelines from the physios of Bayer, he didn’t return to the pitch as precautionary measure.
